As part of the Masaha Residency Showcase, three residents (Abeer Sultan, Areej Aljarba, and Farah Alturki) have come together for a three-part journey in uncovering the forgotten narratives of Saudi women.
Part One: Opening the mouth
The residents will discuss women in Saudi narratives, introducing the challenges and the lack of documentation for women’s narrative. The residents will explore: women in literature, poetry, songs, audio in film and television as well as Bedouin lifestyles.
Part Two: In search of the eyes
Participants are invited to participate, engage, and raise questions with the residents by sharing different media examples of how women are representation in, literature, sports, TV (comedies, drama, horror…), and film. This collective effort will lead to a film.
